Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Sports bars fill up on game nights and often run pizza-and-pitcher specials; diners and fast-food chains keep long hours, sometimes around the clock. Sales tax is added at the register on top of menu prices.

Princeton is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Princeton follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We visited this restaurant and had a wonderful experience. It has a beautiful location with a great view overlooking the university street, and parking was easy and convenient. We ordered the Cobb salad, the Four Cheese Bread, and the steak. The Four Cheese Bread was absolutely delicious, and the steak was cooked perfectly. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. The service was outstanding. Every staff member was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, making us feel very welcome throughout our meal. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a pleasant dining atmosphere.

This was our first trip to Princeton and we happened upon the Witherspoon Grill Friday night for dinner. The food was delicious. We had steak as well as the cheeseburger, along with oysters as an appetizer. Both the steak and burger were seasoned just right and cooked perfectly according to our requests. A special shout out to William who was our server. He is both professional and personable and we think heβs a great asset to the business. My daughter and I highly recommend the Witherspoon Grill for great food, very nice atmosphere (either al fresco or indoors) plus amazing service!

Went here to celebrate a friend and it was a great experience. The ambience was excellent, especially in the middle of a huge snowstorm. The calamari and the thick cut bacon were superb. The picanha steak was okay, nothing super special. The steak fries that came with it though were cold. Other than that, everything was great and would come back here for another special occasion.

This was not our first time at Witherspoon Grill nor will it be our last. We went here to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary and our outing started off with two glasses of champagne from the restaurant. It was such a beautiful day that we eat outside on the patio, our server was awesome, and the food was just as amazing. My wife got the fillet tips while I got the hanger steak with a side of blue cheese fondue This place never disappoints so do yourself a favor and give it a try

Location, location, location β and this place truly delivers on that. Just like Princeton itself, Witherspoon Grill sits in a beautifully charming spot, right next to the Princeton Library, surrounded by the historic and lively downtown area. It is the kind of place where simply sitting outside becomes part of the experience. The outdoor seating feels almost romantic, with a slightly European, even French inspired vibe. Watching people stroll by under trees wrapped in soft lights creates a warm and memorable atmosphere. The service stands out in a good way. The staff are polite, attentive, and efficient without feeling rushed, which makes the overall dining experience smooth and enjoyable. As for the food, it is solid and dependable, but not something that completely wowed me. Everything was good and well prepared, just not particularly memorable. Overall, this is a great spot for a relaxed dinner with family or loved ones. You come here as much for the atmosphere and setting as you do for the meal β and in that sense, it delivers exactly what you would hope for.
